Evan’s Leak Detection is a full-service slab leak and repair company specializing in residential and commercial services, repairs and replacements. Evans Leak Detection has been owner operated for over 50 years.

Over the years we have built the experience to be able to offer a FLAT RATE for leak detection and slab leak repairs. All our Leak Detection Specialists are well versed in the various code changes that have evolved in home construction/plumbing over the decades.

We are committed to on time service and fixing the problem right the first time. All materials and equipment we use are made in the USA and are of the highest quality. Evan’s Leak Detection understands that you are busy and a slab leak can be a stressful situation. Therefore, we carry all necessary tools with us so there is minimal waiting time for installation and repairs.

Great service. We had a water leak in our house, usage was going up but there were no obvious indications where the leak was. No wet spots, no sound of running water, no leaky faucets or toilets. Review of 2 Leak Detection Services June 11 & 12, 2026This experience was an enlightening one as I ended up dealing with 2 different companies for the same problem and got 2 completely different results.The concern was that my city water meter needle was slowly spinning and my back yard was soggy and muddy while front yard surface was dry although holes dug for planting in the front had water pool in their bottoms at 13” and 18” below surface level. I was concerned about a leak somewhere – the house slab or the irrigation system or a neighbor.First I had called a company in Anaheim. Their “technician” Gabriel, a young man, arrived on time. I explained my concern to him. I showed him the slowly spinning needle on the water meter and walked him through the dry front yard to the soggy, muddy grass and planters in the back yard so that he was aware of my problem. I showed him where the shut off valves were for the house and irrigation system. I watched him work and also guided him through the house so he could examine the pipes and fittings for each water outlet.He had a variety of devices in his truck. Started out with audio detection of pipes and fittings throughout the whole house. Next he used compressed air to ‘pressurize’ the system a couple of times but his gauges did not show the pressure drop which he had expected. Then he got out a noise emitting wand to try to trace the paths of any pipes below the surface and placed strips of tape on the floor.After 2 hours he admitted he couldn’t find a leak and said his time was up unless I wanted him to keep looking which would cost more. He offered no opinion about why the water meter needle was slowly moving or why the backyard was soggy other than ‘well you might be lower than the neighbors are and water runs downhill’. He never even picked up the tape strips he left on the floor.This company had sent a ‘technician’ who didn’t really know what he was doing with the situation that faced him or, it turns out, with his equipment and he was unable to do the job that was contracted for. Nevertheless, that afternoon and the next day this company contacted me by phone, text and email with their invoice and request for payment. I would not recommend this company. There are better ones, see below:Second, I called Evans Leak Detection from Orange, CA who came out the next day. Their technician, Omar, arrived on time. I explained the situation and my concerns and walked the landscape with him as I had done with the first company. He examined the slowly turning water meter, got out his audio detection instrument and we walked throughout the house while he listened to the pipes and fittings. Through a series of valve shut offs he could determine the location of the leak. Since he felt that the slowness of the water meter needle spin did not indicate a leak big enough to cause the soggy backyard, he turned his attention to that. After examining the location with the most water, he got out his ladder, looked over the privacy fence and noticed the neighbor’s planter adjacent to our property was water soaked while the rest appeared dry. He then examined the neighbor’s water meter and found the needle spinning at a noticeable rate. He went with me to the neighbor’s house, we explained the situation and were invited to examine their irritation lines. With the neighbors permission he shut off the valve controlling that section of their irrigation. They will make the repair.So, in less than 2 hours, both problems, the leak causing the water meter needle to slowly spin and the cause of the soggy back yard water problem were solved. I would highly recommend this company.

Highly recommend this company. The tech they sent out was so kind and knowledgeable. We went into this project extremely nervous we were going to have some major issues with our cast iron pipes under our slab and this company was able to do multiple cameras in the pipes, get on the roof to check the pipes, make it through some weird turns and give us some much needed piece of mind.I know nothing about plumbing and the tech spend the time answering all my questions, didn't make me feel dumb and fully explained everything going on in our house. We have a contractor ready to put floors in so he gets paid and thankfully this guy came (on time! And with a courtesy call) and advised us to wait until the floors are completely dry. We appreciate all the knowledge and advice they gave us.

I had a indication of a leak in my condo when I called Evans. I spoke to Ron who immediately scheduled Omar to come over to investigate the leak. Omar was quick and efficient and found I had two leaks in the house. Omar got to work and sleeved the slab leak and was able to remove and replace the pipe that had a pinhole leak in the wall. Omar squeezed into a narrow opening in the wall to remove and replace the pipe. I appreciate the Ron and Omar, their quick response and efficient repair of the leaks prevented this from becoming a much larger and more expensive repair. I also appreciate the upfront pricing for the work, which gave me piece of mind that the cost would not climb after the work began. I would not hesitate to call Ron again. We obviously had a hot water line leak under the slab. Evans Leak Detection did a thorough sound analysis of where the leak was and its probability. Had a leak in the slab (hot water line), Ron knew exactly what to do. We opted with a whole house Repipe instead of repairing the one line. Ron and his Team (Omar) Repiped all the lines, changed the shower valves, added a hose bib, and added A new shut off valve for a very REASONABLE and FAIR price. The amount of cutting to the drywall and stucco was minimal. He even offered assistance with a trust worthy person to repair the cut outs.Ron insulted the new pipes, offers a 5 year warranty, is licensed/insured, and uses American made products with a 25 year warranty.DONT waste your time getting quotes or trying to get it done cheaper with a handyman, just call Ron and get It done right.
